What we do
For over 57 years, Consulting Engineer & Scientists has provided trusted forensic analysis to determine the nature and cause of accidents, failures, and injuries. As expert witnesses, we clarify complex issues, present scientific evidence, and help courts understand matters beyond the knowledge of a layperson.

Our investigations often uncover non-obvious factors requiring specialized expertise. We go beyond completing a task, providing clients with objective, credible analysis and clear, professional communication to help resolve legal conflicts and support informed decisions.
Why we do it
At Consulting Engineers & Scientists we have a staff with a diverse range of backgrounds and experience. Working at Consulting Engineers & Scientists provides a unique opportunity to use our experts’ individual education, experience, and background to determine a condition or circumstance that resulted in an accident, failure, or injury.

When these matters proceed to court, our experts are the voice that translates a complicated matter in a manner or language that the jury or legal professionals can readily understand. Ultimately, it is Consulting Engineer & Scientists goal to contribute to having a safer environment through the work we do, and the insights we provide.
How we do it
Our team is comprised of seasoned professionals, each with direct working experience in their respective fields of expertise. We apply established codes, standards, and best practices as applicable. Our methods are grounded in relevant sciences and informed by research and studies.

We place strong emphasis on documentation—every matter is supported by comprehensive and accurate records. All work output undergoes rigorous peer review to maintain consistency, quality, and objectivity.

When a case proceeds to litigation, we provide clear, credible, and comprehensible expert testimony. Our role is to articulate the issues in a manner that is accessible and useful to the court, facilitating informed decision-making.
Our History
Present
CES is among the first forensic firms to integrate multiple disciplines. Today, we combine biomechanics, architecture, industrial hygiene, nursing, and 3D laser scanning to investigate automotive, roadway, product, and structural matters, providing plaintiff and defense counsel integrated technologies and analytical methods for case evaluation, discovery, and litigation strategy.
2019
CES returns to New Jersey. We expanded our regional presence by opening a Cherry Hill office, bringing our forensic engineering expertise back to New Jersey. The new location enhanced accessibility, allowing the firm to better serve attorneys and clients throughout the state.
1998
CES built a laboratory and office facility in Malvern, PA where we currently reside. We grew with the space and now have experts in more than a dozen different areas, including Biomechanics, Biomedical Engineering, Fire Arm Safety, Industrial Hygine, Electronic Controls, and Nursing, among others.
1987
CES moved into offices in Malvern, PA and continued to expand operations, capabilities and expertise.
1980
CES Incorporated and moved it's offices to King of Prussia, PA. Added the disciplines of Civil Engineering and expanded Failure Analysis. This developed into the evaluation of Premises Liability and further into Product Liability matters.
1974
CES opened it's first office in West Deptford, NJ performing failure analysis and product liability.
1969
Paul K. Goldberg left Boeing and devoted his time to private practice. He worked with attorneys and insurance companies using his metallurgical engineering training in matters that were in litigation or potential litigation and involved failure analysis, product liability, and machine guarding.
1963
Paul K. Goldberg, P.E. trained on the electron microscope and used that technology in conjunction with failure analysis testing to evaluate aircraft component failures at Boeing.
