Product Liability is an area of litigation in which a product is allegedly the cause of or a contributing factor in a personal injury and/or property damage lawsuit. Products are generally evaluated by examination using failure analysis or human factors to determine if they were correctly designed, using the proper materials, manufactured, and assembled so that they can be used safely with the proper warnings for their intended purpose. Products involved in litigation may have been used in industrial, commercial, and consumer applications and can include transportations vehicles, production machinery, household and recreational products including kitchen appliances, bicycles, and toys.
