Fredric M. Blum is a Forensic Mechanical Engineer with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and a Master of Business Administration. He has over 40 years of experience in determining the cause and evaluating liability in accidents, failures and fires involving mechanical equipment. His expertise includes incident investigation, failure analysis, incident reconstruction, code and standards compliance and liability assessment.

Mr. Blum has worked on matters including machine accidents and guarding on such equipment as power presses, shears, mills, saws, mixers, etc.; gas, propane and steam explosions; large-scale industrial plant fires, accidents and catastrophic failures; residential, industrial and commercial heating/ventilating/air conditioning system malfunctions for oil, gas and propane systems. He has considerable experience with sprinkler and piping system failures. He has investigated residential and commercial appliance accidents and malfunctions including gas ranges, water heaters, gas-log fireplaces, kerosene heaters, tanks and pressure vessels, snowblowers and exercise equipment.

Mr. Blum’s experience includes matters involving personal injuries, fires, floods, soot contamination, smoke contamination and piping system leaks and freeze-ups. He handles consumer, commercial and industrial incidents.
