Construction is a multidiscipline project which requires a specialized knowledge and hands-on experience to address the various construction technical and legal issues that arise. Architecture experts have the expertise and experience you need to assist in your matter

Forensic Architecture is a science that investigates the relationship between architectural facts and legal responsibilities. This science deals with any service, product, or property that was provided in connection with the built environment. Construction is a complex and dynamic process that requires special knowledge, experience, and understanding to address the intricate technical and legal issues that arise with building planning, design, construction, and maintenance. Our credentialed professionals have many years of experience working in their fields gaining the knowledge to become experts.

If a problem arises due to the design, construction, alteration, or operation of buildings, we have the expertise and experience to investigate the architectural aspects of the matter. Investigative tasks such as inspecting building failures, researching codes and ordinances, determining contract requirements, evaluating project financial arrangements, analyzing construction logistics and schedules, and reporting on investigation findings are all integral to our services. Using a 3-D laser scanner, we can create accurate models of building interior and exterior conditions. With our knowledge and experience, we can explain the responsibilities of the parties involved and their relationship to applicable codes, industry standards, and practices. The services of our forensic experts are crucial in determining the outcome of a built environment liability issue.

Slip, Trip & Fall

CESI’s highly qualified professionals can analyze the mechanics of a slip, trip or fall to determine whether the built environment was a cause or factor in an incident.  The examination of the incident site and/or documentation of the incident site conditions are used to determine whether a hazard was present.  In addition, our experts can evaluate maintenance practices that may be applicable to the incident location.  When pertinent, slip-resistance testing of the walking-surface can be performed to establish whether the walking-surface reasonably complied with codes, standards and practices, and the interaction of the incident footwear with the walking-surface can be evaluated.
