Ezra S Krendel
Ezra S. Krendel is an emeritus professor of Operations Research and Statistics, Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. He holds an M.A. in Social Relations from Harvard University, a Sc.M. in Physics from M.I.T. and a B.A., Physics, from Brooklyn College.
He is a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers, the American Psychological Association, the American Psychological Society and the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society.
Professor Krendel founded the Engineering Psychology Laboratory and the Operations Research Division at the Franklin Institute Research Laboratories where he was Technical Director. He has been a consultant to the United States Departments of Defense, Army, Navy, Air Force, Commerce, Justice and Transportation as well as to NATO and to industry. He has been a member of various U.S. Government committees including several Highway Research Boards and the NASA Research Advisory Committee on Control, Guidance and Navigation.
He created and taught the undergraduate programs in Human Factors Engineering at the School of Engineering and Applied Science of the University of Pennsylvania where he was a professor of Systems Engineering. He has contributed many articles to scientific and engineering journals and chapters to engineering reference books reflecting his extensive experience in human factors engineering problems.
Professor Krendel has been hired in cases dealing with: workplace, home, sports, automobile, boat and aircraft accidents; visual detection and search; warnings and the speed of appropriate responses. At Consulting Engineers & Scientists, Inc., he evaluates machines, instructions, warnings and the perception of sensory information concerning accidents, product performance, safety and human behavior.
