CESI President Paul Goldberg was a Speaker at PBI Auto Law Update

CESI President, Paul K. Goldberg, P.E. was a speaker at the Pennsylvania Bar Institute seminar “20th Annual Auto Law Update” held on October 29, 2013 in West Conshohocken, PA.  Mr. Goldberg spoke on the topic “Auto Accident Broken Component Evaluations.

goldberg_vcardMr. Goldberg discussed Metallurgy and Failed Components in motor vehicles. In his discussion of Failure Analysis, he raised the important issue to be determined – was the failure the cause of the accident or the result of the accident?

Using three Case Studies, Mr. Goldberg further explored the engineers role in discovery and in determining what really happened.

The three Case Studies included:

  • BMW Wheel Overload
  • Fracture, Subaru Wheel Stud Fatigue Fracture, and a
  • Semi-Tanker Accident with Failed Springs Fatigue Fracture.
